We organize an annual digital workshop with the Indo-German Centre for Sustainability (IGCS) to promote sustainability in the plastics industry. Students from various disciplines worldwide take part in the #sustainabilitychallenge to learn about challenges and strategies in dealing with plastics. Lectures by experts from renowned universities, institutes and companies will provide an interdisciplinary overview, on the basis of which participants will develop their own ideas for the sustainable use of plastics in small groups.
The workshop will take place in 2024 under the motto “Reduce | Re-Use | Recycle | Recover. From Waste to Wealth: Plastics in a Circular Economy - Sustainable Solutions and Innovations for a Greener Future”. The innovations developed will then be presented and we will award prizes to the most promising ideas.
In this way, we benefit as a company and assume social responsibility by drawing attention to current (environmental) problems through educational work and contributing to their solution. The workshop serves the common good and fulfills the purpose of the foundation.
The Indo-German Centre for Sustainability (IGCS) is a joint Indo-German center that promotes interdisciplinary research, teaching, training and exchange in the field of sustainable development. It focuses on water management, waste management, renewable energy, land use and urban and rural development. The aim of the center is to offer forward-looking solutions in sustainability research by intensifying Indo-German cooperation in key academic areas. The project is a collaboration between the German TU9 Universities, Kiel University and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM).
